'Wonderful place, the rooms are in the Abbey buildings and you get free tickets to visit the Abbey (worth £6 each). Also excellent buffet breakfast for only £5 each.
Only complaint was uncomfortable bed in otherwise very nice room. Also No towels provided.

Next to Abbey . Able to park car . Staff on reception were polite & courteous
Room felt like a room in an instituton . YHA is not a hotel & should not be described as such . Bathroom was awful , not an ensuite - designed for a patient receiving care . Ok for one night , but I would not return to YHA personally .

This hotel had great value for money. The prices were reasonable and the attention to detail was impressive. The location at the top of the hill next to Whitby Abbey was absolutely stunning. The service provided by the staff was excellent, and the basic amenities in the rooms on the top floor were satisfactory. The piping hot shower in the room was a nice touch, and the newly carpeted bedrooms added a touch of comfort. The breakfast options were good, except for the occasionally leathery scrambled eggs.
All was well.

This hotel in Whitby had great value for money, with reasonable prices for the area. The attention to detail was evident, especially in the clean and well-maintained rooms. I appreciated that the single beds were comfortable instead of the usual bunk beds found in hostels. The en suite bathroom on the top floor had excellent disabled facilities, making it accessible for all guests. The location was another highlight, situated at the top of the hill next to Whitby Abbey and offering breathtaking views of the lake.
All was satisfactory and met my expectations.

The historic location was amazing, with stunning views of the coast and abbey. the building itself was beautiful and had a lot of character. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing local information and offering a complimentary ticket to a nearby attraction. I also appreciated the secure storage for luggage.
The prices were a bit high, especially when you added on extras like breakfast. On our last morning, there was no hot water, which was a major inconvenience.

Fabulous location, very well serviced not at all noisey for a Youth Hostel, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to help.
Having to leave so early, although a late check out facility was available. And the single price for breakfast, even though it was possible to have varying sized meals.

This hotel is truly a hidden gem, nestled at the top of a hill next to an iconic abbey. The picturesque views of the old town and harbor are simply breathtaking. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with the added bonus of a TV and ensuite bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring that every guest feels welcome. The basic amenities are well-maintained, adding to the overall value for money. And the breakfast, apart from the occasional leathery scrambled eggs, is a delightful start to the day.
All in all, my stay at this hotel was absolutely fine.

Free towels and Wi-Fi were a nice touch. Amazing views of a famous landmark from the top floor room. Easy access to shops and restaurants.
Staff were very unorganized and didn't seem to care about guests. Breakfast was a disaster with long tables crammed with people and not enough food.

Just about the best location for any stay in Whitby, couldn't be any closer to the famous abbey, as it's in the grounds itself at the top of the famous 199 steps
